Course Description

The course is designed to develop work and independent Life Skills and opportunities to progress into further education for students with Special Education Needs. The course will help students build on their confidence and develop the practical skills for everyday life, learning and work.

The course:

  • Develops learning through a range of classroom based activities and enrichment trips.
  • Develops English, Maths and ICT.
  • Provides the opportunity to develop social and communication skills.
  • Offers Work experience as part of the course.
  • Enhances students Life Skills and Employability Skills
  • Supports students learning through Learning Support Assistants.
  • Entry Requirements

  • Successful interview with course tutor.
  • Students should be working towards Entry Level 2 in English and Maths.
  • Updated S139a (moving forward plan), statement or an EHCP (Educational Health Care Plan).
  • Assessment Methods

  • Practical observation
