Course Description

Within the Film and Broadcasting course you will develop your understanding of the Film and TV industry learning relevant skills and disciplines required for working in a dynamic, vibrant and thriving work force. Developing the practical and theoretical knowledge and understanding of the Film and TV industry, you will research, plan, produce and edit your own work. With the added bonus of working on the Bexley College TV channel (BCTV) and creating short films for the BCTV YouTube page, you will boost your employability skills making you more desirable to employers and universities a like.

  • Multi-Camera Techniques
  • Factual Programming Production Techniques for Television

  • Writing Television and Video
  • Entry Requirements

  • 4 GCSEs Grade C or above, including English and Maths
  • OR Level 2 qualification in a similar area at Merit or above with Level 2 English and Maths (or equivalent)
  • Successful interview with College staff
  • Assessment Methods

    All assessments are internal based, assignment briefs are designed by the teaching staff to give great flexibility to the work you are required to produce. Overall there are 19 different units which are required to be completed over the 2 year programme.

    Qualifications

  • BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Creative Media Production (Television and Film) (QCF) 180 Credit.
  • Essential Skills in English or Maths

  • Progression

    This course offers two pathways, one that has an employment link into the Film and TV industry and one that links to the industry via university.
