Course Description

This is an extremely popular pathway to an exciting but very challenging career, so please apply early. The pathway is designed for those aged 19 or over who intend to enter the social work profession, for example as a Social Worker working in Children’s or Adult services with diverse client groups. The BA (Social Work) is a joint academic and professional qualifi cation which usually takes 3 years of full time study combined with supervised placements.

Entry Requirements

  • No formal qualifications are required but students must demonstrate a genuine commitment to this course and interest in this area of study.
  • Be able to provide a recent, fully enhanced CRB
  • 6 months regular work experience (voluntary or paid) with vulnerable people prior to starting the course.
  • Initial assessment in Maths and English
  • Assessment Methods

    We make the assessments as supportive as possible. The forms of assessment will mirror those used in university which will include continual assessment and written assignments as well as work related assessment.

    Progression

    Students progress on to the Degree programmes in either Social Work or a Social Care related degree.
