Course Description

This course requires students to be employed or working as a volunteer with children in Key stage 1 and 2. Core units of study include: Supporting children’s learning, Developing effective communication, Safeguarding, Equality & Diversity and Health & Safety.

Please Note: Applicants are required to be 18 or older to apply for this course.

Entry Requirements

Work placement of at least 40 hours in place when the course starts. Evidence of Level 2 Literacy and Level 2 Numeracy.

Assessment Methods

Students create a portfolio of evidence, take part in various activities, presentations and provide evidence of their placement.

Qualifications

NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools

Progression

NCFE Level 3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools. Employment as a Teaching Assistant/Support Worker in a primary or secondary school.
