Course Description

The 2 year Foundation Degree in Computing develops the knowledge and skills appropriate for employment as computing and IT professionals. It provides opportunities to study areas to current industry standards, in a programme that is constantly being updated to cover new developments. The programme reflects current trends and skills needed in the sector.

It covers all the main branches of computing including programming using Java and C#, internet technologies, network systems, mobile devices, communication systems, UML in systems building and the use of SQL in database development. It also includes an element of work based learning which allows students to engage an employer and to add to further career development.

    4 GCSE’s Grade A-C, including English and Maths PLUS 1 or more A Level/ AS Level or BTEC Diploma or Access course with at least 120 UCAS points.

    Qualifications

    Awarded by the University of Greenwich: Foundation Degree in Computing

    Progression

    On completion of the Foundation Degree, students can fast track to the 3rd year of the BSc Degree in Computing at University of Greenwich or pursue employment in the IT industry.
