Course Description

This course is designed to give you a more advanced level of brickwork skills to allow you to progress from the Level 1 Diploma/ICA in Bricklaying. Course content: You will learn about handling and storing masonry materials, interpreting drawings, using and maintaining tools, working in teams and the important Health & Safety considerations of the trade. You will study all aspects of brickwork covering levelling and plumbing, setting out and gauging as well as the construction of cavity, garden walls and wall arches. You will be required to supply your own safety footwear, as well as any necessary stationery.
The Level Three NVQ course advances the core skills and techniques learned on the Level 2/NVQ course. Students will be able to demonstrate an advanced standard of brickwork skill and understanding of materials and safety responsibilities in the construction workplace.

Entry Requirements

A pre-entry interview with the course tutor, Brickwork Foundation Level 1 / NVQ2 Diploma

Assessment Methods

Practical assessments during the course, Written test papers during the course and a end of year on-line final examination
