Course Description

This programme has been developed to meet the growing demand for skilled and resourceful managers in the expanding world wide Tourism Industry. This course develops the students? knowledge in general business principles, whilst focusing on the management of tourism to produce employable graduates. This is an exciting and interesting course that includes several field trips to tourism attractions. The aims of this course are to provide students with an understanding of the structure, nature, management and impact of the international tourism industry.

Entry Requirements

GCSE Mathematics & English ? 40 UCAS points, at least 1 A ? Level ? BTEC National or DVCE

Coursework, written reports, presentations and examinations

Progression

The first 2 years (HND) are studied at Bexley College; students are given the opportunity to do a third year top up to a full BA Degree at the University of Greenwich, Maritime Campus. Career opportunities include work within organisations associated with the tourism industry in the UK and abroad. The 2012 Olympics is expected to boost tourism in the UK significantly, making tourism an excellent and employable specialism for any graduate
